Poster: A snowHead

A French ski station near Vichy has been put up for sale on the small ads website leboncoin.fr because the owner wants to retire. For a mere 550,000 euros you could have the slopes all to yourself. The price is an all-inclusive one: commercial funds, agreement with the forestry development authority, mechanical lifts including 3 ski-lifts, a ski-hire shop with more than 500 pieces of equipment in stock, a creperie, a piste-basher (for grooming the slopes) and other mountain vehicles. There are 2km of downhill slopes and 20km of cross-country slopes....Check out the ad: http://www.leboncoin.fr/bureaux_commerces/495430204.htm?ca=3_s

Sorry guys, I think I'm going to buy it outright. I've been thinking for a long time about who I would allow to ski on my very own mountain....
Skiers who set off into my path without looking uphill ..... banned
Those who wait for their mates in the lift line .... banned
Moaning about the lack of grooming on a powder day .... banned

Patch, great, you can be piste patrol. Shotgun being chief hot-tub tester. I will recruit my own team to assist.
I still can't believe how reasonably priced this place is. What kind of lift has it got? With two Snowhead exclusive weeks a year, with specialist coaching thrown in, a load of ramps and a custom race course I could see it bringing in enough to cover the interest.

I'd invest in building a few bars there first, personally

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Very small ski hill, on par, at least in terms of size and verticle with the lake district / pennines ski hills but with better facilities and likely better reliability.
Much bigger, better ski areas are in that general region. So this really only serves a local community. My best guess is this isn't a profitable hill, and if it is, the profit is marginal.

You know it makes sense.

Clearly in need of snow makers to create artificial snow to extend the season.
I have a plastic hose and a spare fan we could use but are their any taps to supply water.
