Die Arlberger Bergbahnen AG beabsichtigen durch das zur Bewilligung eingereichte Projekt eine umfassende Sanierung der Talabfahrt Rendl inklusive des Einbindungsbereiches der Schipiste „Tobel R1a“. Die geplanten Maßnahmen erstrecken sich dabei zwischen der Talstation der Gampbergbahn und der südlichen Einmündung der „Schiroute Wannele R5“ in die Talabfahrt Rendl.

Anyone know if the Arlberg Tunnel is closed to single bore dual traffic again this summer (as it was last summer), and if so are international freight/ lorries going over the Arlbergpass again? Going in 3 weeks and am planning to take my roadbike as well as mountainbike but only if the pass is reasonably quiet. Keen to get up and over to Stuben but not if its mega busy.
Also just had a quick look on the webcams and I see there's big piles of earth next to the new Thaja restaurant at St Christoph, is something going on around there?

I cycled over the Arlbergpass last weekend St Anton to Lech, leaving Sunday morning at ~09:00 from St Anton.
Traffic was fine and there were plenty of other bikers, but this was on a weekend.

Piste Remodelling Route 1 (Zammermoos).... It looks to me they are re-inforcing the hill in preparation for a new lift taking the same traject as the old Feldherrnhugel T Bar. Really hope not as it will mean more trees cut down & a great steep short cut off piste area destroyed.

The trench is presumably for power and signal lines to avoid icing issues with overhead cables, although what happens where the rock comes to surface or they have to go over a cliff ? Perhaps just laid on the surface there

With regards to the Zammer remodelling, looks like there is work going on uphill from there following the old Feldhernnhugel trajectory. Didn't have binoculars with me so couldn't take a close look, but seems to be just over from the fun slope on Galzig (earth movements are skiers right and slightly downhill from the snail coil section of the fun slope).

That's the one I'm on about. You can't tell from that webcam picture, but looking at it from over Gampen direction, the works look to be very much along the Feldherrnhugel trajectory.

@Sitter, Loads going on......Hopefully they'll not stop me in 2 weeks as I hurtle through their workings at 40kph on my MTB on route down to Steissbachtal for the Thai soup and tomato bruschetta lunch at Galzigbistrobar!
Seriously, do you think the piste remodelling works at Zammermoos will have closed the road? I intend cycling up to to Galzig on the road from St Christoph and cycling down happy valley and through that area.....!

Plenty of people walking through so it's still open. Not too sure about the 40kph tho with the diggers in action...

Are they constructing a larger (underground?) carpark at Rauz, its going to attract a big influx of locals from down the valley/ Bregenz etc I'd think, they'll stop here rather than as previously going around Flexenpass to Zurs in the past?

@Markymark29, No UG Car park this summer. May come later. The whole idea of the Flexenbahn is really a Transit Facility & yes to leave cars at Rauz.

Haven't been on the SH site for awhile, so having tried to digest a summer's worth of updates on the Arlberg Supergebiet AKA, St Anton-Lech-Zuers-St Christoph-Stuben-Warth-Schrocken, I may have developed some indigestion!
That seems like a whole lot of construction going on!

I guess if they don't build any more beds, then maybe things don't feel crowded. Wonder how these interconnects will affect the crowds? Maybe everyone will be on the lifts, and the slopes will be empty!
