Local forecast ARPAV are calling for some snow on each of the next 3 days in the Venetian Dolomites...5-10cm today, 5-10cm tomorrow and 'sparse' on Sunday. They're expecting a tiny bit of rain in Arabba today, but should turn to snow as the day progresses. Rain-snow limit falls from 1400-1500m to 1000-1200m by the evening and stays around that point for the weekend.
Brighter & drier for Mon & Tues as the wind swings to the N.

pff I hope for more than that, otherwise it is once again a missed opportunity... I wonder why I always book in a region that never sees snow

Yes, it does look like something approaching 20-30cm of snow is forecast over the next few days. It will probably be warmer than usual today so there might be some rain lower down. No sign of any really heavy snow but it should at least top up the pistes nicely. It's looking a bit dull and gloomy for anyone out there at the moment but could turn sunny towards the end of the week.

Great to see the snow falling. It looks more like rain down in the village in Corvara but hopefully it won't do too much damage.

Warmer today -- while it was raining in Selva village, it snowed all day up the mountain. Flat light made for interesting skiing. Don't know what it is like in Arabba, but anybody on the BASH will be pleased with the amount of snow that has fallen today in the area..

@albob, how much would you say has fallen on the mountain?
Bergfex seem to think there'll be a bit more overnight with the rain-snow limit down to 800m, so maybe you'll wake up to a white dusting in the village!

Warm today. FL quite high, probably around 1400m. Torrential rain in Alleghe means plenty of fresh up high. Finally starting to look a bit whiter, plenty of fresh tracks on the piste and the precipitation continues. Tomorrow will be a good day

@pjd, a crying shame seeing all that rain being wasted on the Po Plain and not really penetrating fully into the mountains.

Nice picture. That's the kind of snow we want.
It looks like there'll be a bit more snow this afternoon and then some more on Sunday Night/Monday with another top up coming later in the week. Fingers crossed the pistes should be in good condition for half term week (even if you have a different one from most of us).

ARPAV are putting some estimates on the snow to come:
Sat afternoon, moderate at times heavy snow, 5-15cm at altitude, snow limit 700-1100m
Sun afternoon & eve, light scattered snow, 5-10cm over 1000m, rain-snow limit 800-900m
Monday, residual snow showers in the morning then clearing up, rain-snow limit 700-900m
Tuesday, sunny and clear skies for the morning at least!

Just heading back from a week in Selva. Things definitely on the up by our last day on Friday - we were skiing about 10-15cms of powder on and around the quieter upper slopes in the afternoon (can recommend 'paprika' in heavy snow'!). Should be excellent for anyone heading out soon.
Unfortunately the rain/sleet and warmer temps was making the runs into the resort very wet and no snow settling off piste.
(I'd upload some pics if I knew how!)

Also heading home today
But anyone heading out there can breath a sigh of relief, it was coming down pretty thick and fast when I left Selva today. Did a last quick SR anti-cw and there was some really nice stuff falling between Arabba and Corvara (which missed out yesterday), chocolate box scenery has returned and as long as the temps stay nice and low anyone heading out should have a cracking time!

@luigi, missed your earlier post (no 'net..) : think 6-10cms varying with height/conditions.
Sadly, now back in UK, cursing the people who are out there now..

Monday- misty & snowy overnight and continues in the morning, total of 10-20cm snow expected, easing off in afternoon, clearing in the evening.
Tuesday- Dry day. Some residual mid-height cloud in morning, clearing to clear spells and high cloud around the middle of the day. High cloud thickens toward evening.
