Cool down next week and at the moment the Met O long range forecast is for a cool second half to November.
First tracks last year were 22nd November so anything is possible !

Yadcams appear to be working and heavy snow forecast tonight...looks like someone has been up on a snowmobile!

Yes there is a vid on the facebook page. Unfortunately conditions were not really good enough to ski. The positive news though is that the Pomas are now on, the new bulwheel has been tested and the refurbished pylon 7 has been set up so we are very much ready to go. The 30 day forecast remains hopeful of more cold snaps.
Meanwhile both Allenheads and Raise have had a days operation.... and also the Halifax snow slope.

Good forecast for Raise tomorrow after overnight frost.
Looks to be staying cool next week with even more snow

@Peter S, does/can Yad ever load the pomas from further up the up track (if that makes sense!!) Shame the piste driver was on hols as pisting out those drifts would have made for some good top half skiing I'd guess!

Theoretically we could have someone at the bottom setting off Pomas and load from P3 but it wouldn't be ideal and only rarely would it make much difference in terms of snow cover.
Unfortunately there aren't many drifts to push out. If the snow arrives on Monday night with the forecast gales that might change things. Temps looking marginal on Tuesday however.

Superb skiing at Raise and Yad Moss today. Raise will be operational tomorrow but Not Yad Moss which will review again on Friday evening.

Forecast is good for skiing at both Raise and Yad Moss , though the snow will probably get quite soft at Yad Moss in the afternoon and hopefully if it holds out, into Sunday.

Temps haven't been that high, only just above freezing at the bottom of the runs I think.
The key has been low humidity today and yesterday. Currently down around 20%

- had planned on a drive up on a day off yesterday but we were put off by the lack of snow on the (working!) Weardale cams....Made do with Xscape, Castleford instead - good fun but would rather have skinned up in the Pennines
