Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Well done to Andrew Musgrave for coming 4th in the 50km Freestyle. Coming in to the finish he was at the back of a small group of 6 and put in a charge to finish 4th. He was too far back really to be in the chance for a medal at the finish, but an amazing result.

@ster, I've been following his progress for the last couple of years. Muzzy and Andrew Young are very good.

I don't get why so many of them give up before the finish line. That Norwegian had 4th place until he just stopped pushing

The Norwegian was Marcus Johnsrud Sundby. He has been the overall world cup winner for a number of seasons and won the Tour de Ski a number of times, but has never won an individual Gold at Olympics or World Championships, so given that he had missed out again, and was also on his last legs, nearly falling a couple of times in the last straight, it is probably understandable. However, I don't think he realised that Musgrave was finishing so fast. Pity Musgrave had not been slightly better placed up the last hill, or he might have medalled. Fantastic result and bodes well for the Olympics.

It also looked to me like Sundby might not have realised Musgrave was there. He looks to his left to check if there’s anyone there, but doesn’t see Musgrave on his far right. Moral of the story, always assume that there’s somebody else there! Not that I imagine he really cares about 4th vs 5th.

Great result for Musgrave, he showed good tactics and form throughout the race and though a medal would have been amazing, I hope he’s able to enjoy 4th.

That was some finish and yet another one that proves a race isn't over till you are across the line.

Now Sundby is off the dope he's probably not as quick.
