I wasn't too interested in who will take over as marketing director of BASI after the last guy quit shortly after the election so wasn't going to bother voting. but.... there are three candidates and one stands out a a proper marketing professional and I have voted for James Arnold. Was interesting to read that Gareth Roberts who had been chairman for 8 years and oversaw the whole Simon Butler fiasco is running as well...

I don't know any of the candidates personally, so I only really have what they have written and who proposed/seconded.
It was any easy choice for me too for James Arnold.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

In all fairness the interim CEO bodged the whole Butler fiasco...

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Not much point dragging up old info, but removing a member just before a General Meeting that you know they are attending seems ridiculous.

@PDS Academy, so who did you (guys) vote for ? James seems a solid choice to me and I was quite surprised to see Gareth even on the ballot.

not voted yet, but whoever it is they better sort out the website

@PDS Academy, the interim CEO would have been acting upon the boards instructions at the time of the meeting. Don't blame the messenger. No board members interjected to avoid the embarrassing situation.

@Dunk, I seem to recall that two resigned , the alpine director and the nordic director.. the others (including Gareth) voted to have Simon booted out.

I'll be voting James Arnold, he's the guy with the experience.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

@skimottaret, yes sorry, two resigned. Whilst Simon was being spoken too and during the ensuing debate I observed others (but not all) looking rather sheepish.
James for me.

@Dunk, As you saw the events unfold do you recall if Gareth looked sheepish or triumphant or ?

You know it makes sense.
|
@skimottaret, he was not sheepish, but also not triumphant. It was a look of acknowledgement of the pathway that BASI under his stewardship were taking.

I'm surprised that anyone involved in BASI leadership, poor decision making and conspiracy during Butlergate has the front to stand for office given the thorough kicking they have administered to BASI's reputation.

still time to vote... Most BASI members I would imagine could care less who the association's Marketing director is but the prospect of having the ex chairman back in a voting board position might be of concern.
