Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Lake District Ski Club memberships - apply now!

Only a few days left to apply for reduced-price membership and full benefits at the fabulous Lake District Ski Club.

You have until this Saturday Sep 30 to apply for a 2017/18 season pass (including lift and car pass) at the reduced £50 rate for direct debit. Yes, that's for the full year... snowHead

After this you will be limited to a cash or Paypal payment of £60 for a year’s membership or £30 as a guest for the day. Under-18s ski for free if they can produce a responsible adult...

A key benefit of applying now is that you will receive your car pass in the post. Otherwise you will have to park in Glenridding village and hitch a lift up the Greenside track to the car park until you collect your member and car pass from the tow hut (which is another hour's walk...)

Note that members will also be able to ski whenever the tow is running. (The tow operator may need to decide to make busy weekends “members only” to manage congestion on the fell and at the car park.)

You can join here: [http://www.ldscsnowski.co.uk/join-the-club.html]

We also have a Facebook group [https://www.facebook.com/groups/ldscsnowski/]

PS: It's not always as good as this, tho it's usually as quiet mid-week... NehNeh

@AndAnotherThing..,

2015/16 season mate.... not sure when exactly. Last winter was so-so after a great November (I think we totaled 23 days skiing) but we've had a couple of 60-plus day seasons recently.

I skied with you guys in 2014 (I think), and a memorable day, despite almost doing myself in second run by dropping off the lip in low viz, not far from the drag. If conditions look good I'll head up again for sure, and hopefully score a few of the lines out back again.

@Samc12, You can still apply via Paypal or cash. Only differences are, it will be sixty quid for membership and season pass and you will have to pick up your membership and car passes from the tow.

Yes, the track is OK for a van or car tho you might need chains or winter tyres of course. However, its use is not permitted without the car pass. For your first visit park in the village and stick a post on our Facebook page, then you should have no problem hitching a lift up from the start of the Greenside Road to our car park (see arrow at link): http://streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?X=338605&Y=517015&A=Y&Z=115

@AndAnotherThing.., Just as well you didn't have that fall more recently as that 'lip' is now more of a cliff following Storm Desmond. A big chunk of it broke away and slid down the valley, carrying the bog below it for hundreds of yards in a massive mud and rock 'avalanche'. Shocked

We usually remember to put some tape out to mark it off now... wink
