There are some bargains for week before Christmas for less than £350, all-in - flights, transfers and catered chalet. Unfortunately I can't persuade my "children" (20/22) to do that week.
We could go out on the 1st or 2nd for a week or less, but our budget isn't much more than above. In the unlikely event anyone knows of anything please message me. Or reply here.
Ideally flights from London. There cheap flights-only on the first, but not on the second.
One can but hope eh!

Generally Jan will be good value, people dont like going away so soon after Xmas, too cold in Jan, etc
Weekend of Jan 6 or Jan 13, most hotels in "throw in" a lift pass, (in Italy), ring or check website of hotels
Having said that £350, all-in - flights, transfers and catered chalet , difficult to better that

if you can hold off and consider something more 'last minute' I would get on to the 'silver ski' website and get on their mailing list. they do catered chalets in courchevel (1300/la praz) and la tania and normal price is usually about £499 for flights/ catered chalet/ transfers. but they always send e-mails offering last minute spaces for about £300!! worth a look.

You might get a Chalet/Club Hotel deal sub-£300pp if you can hold out until Jan 2nd before booking, that's when the prices generally tumble, once everyone goes back to work. No guarantees though! 
You'll need to be flexible about resort and not all deals will be available for 4 persons, a lot of operators will only sell 2 seats at a time last-minute, either because there's only one room available, or I often suspect they want groups to book early and will only release 2 seats at a time on late deals, so are happy to let couples/pairs pick up the odd unsold rooms and there are usually enough takers, but want to prevent groups from getting late bargains.

Resurrecting thread, not looked recently due to family illness, but now on the lookout for a bargain deal this week for two adults.
Doesn't seem to be much in the way of cheap flights, so best option might be package, but could be tricky for less than a week, any thoughts much appreciated!

Silver Ski have just released a Catered Chalet deal in La Plagne for £299 from 7th Jan. You can't get much cheaper than that!

actually it was £339 'cos you have to add £40 for LGW, but that's still fantastic ! Sadly can't do a whole week - Thurs night to Mon night (or poss. Weds. night to Sun night)
I have never done anything like this, but might look for basic apartment somewhere with short easy bus transfers and quick access to slopes, I guess Chamonix might fit the bill? any tips welcome
