Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

As you would expect, 6 months displaced from a typical N Hemisphere season, early Dec to mid April.

Beautiful country. We travelled north island last July and drove from a chilly but sunny rotorua through really deep snow (the pass was open for the first time in 5 days) to Napier where there were people in shorts in the sun! A journey of just a couple of hours.

We would love to have skiid it just didn’t have the time.

Getting battered by cyclone Gita at the moment. The weather has gone from 30+degrees yesterday to over a metre of snow forecast for the southern alps today. Might even see the pacific in my back garden at high tide tonight Very Happy

Forecast to calm down on Thursday, this picture was taken the day after the last cyclone came through - parked itself offshore and delivered a couple of days of great waves. Fingers crossed that Gita delivers.

First winter storm coming through tonight. Very early. It was shorts weather yesterday....

Snow line down to 600m this morning here in the Queenstown area but not very thick. More up higher but a bit early to be the start of the winter base.
