Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@CEM, what I am trying to solve for is what to do with wet ski boots on the last day of skiing before rushing off to airport that evening. I need to dry the boots, but how. One of your dryers in s timer could work. Would they be a fire risk?

@Bennyboy1, given your requirements you should consider getting a dehumidifier. It will gently heat the room and and more importantly adsorb any moisture present in the air which has evaporated from the boots and skis. It has a moisture sensor and will turn off when the air is sufficiently dry. It’s a ‘set and forget’. We have one of the following for drying clothes in our utility room and it’s very affective.
EcoAir DD122 Simple Desiccant Dehumidifier, 7 L - Blue https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00474K8SY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_81hYAb7VPTAYC?tag=amz07b-21

@bar shaker, would it be crazy to leave the boots in here for several weeks?

@Bennyboy1, would you not put your boots on then grab a shower, it will be an hour before you leave for home, I'm assuming you flick mains power off when you lock & leave

Yes that is an option, but because we rent our place out it is likely that the apartment will be occupied by the time we get off the slopes. The cave is accessible from the car park. Probably we would have to time it to stop, store/dry stuff then turn it off an hour or so later. I can put it on a timer but then the boots will be on the pegs until I return later in the season. Normally 4-8 weeks later. If the heat is off is it ok leave the boots on the pegs?
