Well, I did think that - but then the ski edges wouldn't be all that great for the leather would it? And I've never seen any other jackets with leather shoulders. And part of the outer collar is leather as well.

My first memory of leather shoulders in skiing goes back to US-made Powderhorn jackets in the late 1970s which had a kind of western look. My colleague at the then Alpine Sports in central London - Paul Goldstein who now owns Killy - maybe unearthed that concept from his memory to design your unwanted jacket.
I suggest you send him a nice letter at Scrubbs Lane, explaining your love of his products but regrets at this particular purchase, and request a swap. If he's in a generous mood (he's extremely rich) he might warm to your proposal.
I'm assuming the jacket is unused.

My OH bought her Killy jacket and trousers in Austria in January. The shop had a number ofjackets with varying amounts of leather on them, but I'm pleased to say that Angie showed restraint and bought a jacket minus the leather. It may be a teutonic thing!!?? The jackets are seriously good technically, and at least it's not a day-glo all-in-one!!

Cathy Coins, indeed. Unless they've moved, Killy and Nevica are still headquartered at Impex House, Scrubbs Lane in Harlesden, London. Not one of the most scenic areas of the capital, but at the other end of Scrubbs Lane to Wormwood Scrubbs and its prison, so you should be reasonably safe.
You could try wandering into the building and requesting an audience with Paul Goldstein. He's got a lively sense of humour, so get the pitch right.

- I thought I could get over this but every time I put it on I feel like a biker....for what reason would they put leather on the shoulders? I still haven't worn it yet skiing and will probably put it on Ebay to try & sell it
