Poster: A snowHead

Chris Bish, Yes, and before I got the Salomon Pros I've had a pair of Nordicas for years - it's only since I've had the Salomons that I realise just how unsuited to my feet the Nordicas were. I am a new skier! Well, almost new anyway, if you've got a good pair of rose-tinted glasses...

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

My wife has a pair of faily ancient Salomons that she loves to bits. My Nordicas are getting a bit sloppy now and need a lot of tightening at lunchtime. Generally speaking, I think Salomon stuff has the edge for quality.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

According to the fitter though it's only the one new line - Salomon Pro - that's good for narrow feet, otherwise all the other Salomon models suit the 'bigger' foot...

It is reckoned that a standard boot liner is good for about 30 days of skiing, after that it starts to degrade. If the boot shells are still in good conditon, consider getting zipfit liners, or similar. |
First time I've heard that. Whilst not doubting your experience, I am surprised that retailers don't make more of it. I've just completed 30 days in my liners, and hadn't noticed any change. Also, what are zipfit liners, and what are the key differences? Please don't let it be just a zip!

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

I've done my 30 days, the liners of my Nordica boots are starting to look a bit ropey and coming apart at the seams. I like the boots. Where do I get a "zipfit liner".
PS. Just learnt from another thread the significance of your name - far too clever for me (but wish I had a cool name too).

Snowlines do custom-fit foam liners for 100 quid. www.snowlines.co.uk and then go to the boot section.

Mark, great minds and all that. Seems I came up with an almost identical posting.
But how do you manage to get "Wear the Fox Hat" in bold before the quote rather than "Quote"?

Jonpim, it's been a clearance offer as long as I've been checking the site (since the beginning of the year)!
