Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Anybody skied the Faction Dancer 1’s?

I’m liking the sound (and looks) of these skis however feel I’m right in the middle of the sizing. I weigh 81kg (ish) and 5’8, competent skier and will be using these as pretty much my piste skis. I have another pair should I be lucky enough to get powder.

Thinking the 170 may be a little short and the 178’s a little long so need to determine which direction to go.
The 170’s are a 16m radius which is appealing and the 178’s are 18m. I’m sure once I’m on them I’ll adapt to either but would appreciate input from anybody that has skied them already. Thanks

Defo the 178's due to the rocker at both ends making them ski quite a bit shorter than their stated length.

I am on the 178s as my everyday piste teaching skis. I am also about 81kg ish but 6ft. I would definitely not go shorter.
