@Rogerdodger, in my opinion, yes - there's a reason I have been coming back with groups every year (bar covid) since 2013...
Lyngen is great (but very busy now), Lofoten is higher on the esoteric scale, but also (much) higher on the Lord of the Rings scenery scale...

I will never be able to ski there, but it's now my ambition to go to the music festival, which is held annually in July. An incredible roster of artists in that setting, what's not to like? Apart from the cost, that is...

@Hurtle, Lofoten is great. you will love it in the summer but bring earplugs. With the long nights they work on boats etc as long as possible. My Brother in Laws boss had a house in Henningsvaer and we got that for free.
You can fly from London to Bodo then on to Svolvaer. We drove and went on the boat. 2 days constant drive and one day on the boat.
