Hi all,
Any snowheads in the Val Thorens / Les Menuires or Meribel area's 17th-23rd or Tigne / Val d'Isère from 24th ?
Also has anyone used Top Ski in Val d'Isère for guiding ? Or can anyone recommend any off piste guiding in Espace Killy ?
Regards Mark

Topsmoke,
I've used Topski in the past and they were very good. I'm sure many of the others are as well .

Alpine Experience and Top Ski are both highly reccommended by many good skiers. They have different styles.
Alpine Experience is small and specialises in off piste skiing. Their guides come from America, Australia, Canada, France, Italy and Scotland. They all speak good English and their customers are mainly English, so the working language is English.
Top Ski has more guides and do a lot of more general teaching. I believe they have more French customers than English and the working language is more likely to be French.
In the poor snow conditions in December we skiied off piste every day with Alpine Experience and enjoyed quite good snow. We saw very few other groups of off piste skiers and heard that the other ski schools were not doing off piste then. As kitenski says, have a look at the Alpine daily newsletter to see where they have skied. I added some words on my skiing with them in these pages http://snowheads.com/ski-forum/viewtopic.php?t=21907 and http://snowheads.com/ski-forum/viewtopic.php?t=23230
Stewart and many others are writing up to date reports about the Tignes and Val d'Isere snow conditions here http://snowheads.com/ski-forum/viewtopic.php?t=21739

Thats great !
Thanks for the info,Im kinda more looking forward to arriving in Tigne than the 3 valleys now,I've only ever once been up to Tigne before and that was an away day one off.I didnt get over to Val d'Isere at all we parked at La Daille and only managed the are above + over to Val Claret and up on the Grande Motte. All on piste i'm afraid too.
It looked fantastic though off the beaten track.
Have decided to use esf in Les Menuires this year as keen to explore the La Masse area which im looking forward to,never been over there before.
Cant wait
