Poster: A snowHead
|
Next week in VT will be my first week snowboarding. I plan to get a couple of lessons (perhaps one to one) to get me going and was then going to see how I got on myself for the rest of the week. The mate I'm going with can snowboard so he can show me the ropes, plus I can already wakeboard so I'm hoping that will help me a bit (just got to remember to lean forwards not back!).
Can anyone recommend where I can get some lessons from? Should I just ask at the place where I hire my board? How much is a one to one lesson likely to cost me?
Thanks,
Tim

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

PhotoTim, can't answser you questions directly but have you read Masque's excellent 2 part begginers guide in this forum? That combined with a lesson and spending time with your mate should have you about on a board in no time at all.

wakeboarding = powder snowboarding. Same technique.

PhotoTim, I paid 70€ for a 2-hour 1:1 lesson in 2Alpes. And in the current slushy conditions I wouldn't worry about leaning forward as you'll just fall down.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Our group was in VT in 2004, so things can obviously have changed since then.
However we had a complete beginner that year, who took lessons with Prosneige, mainly because they had a good rep. He seemed to make excellent progress with them, so they might be worth a go.

yeah I can imagine it would be similar, I guess there won't be any powder though
Thanks for all the replies.
Mr admin is a helpful chap isn't he?! He's going to look into some lessons for me. Next question:
Should I get a (very) limit number of one to one lessons (1.5-2 hours worth) or should I get something like 3 x 2 hour lessons which I guess would probably work out about the same cost?
