Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Replacing bindings...... not as easy as I thought- HELP!!

Hi,

I'm lucky enough to be spending a year in Chambery a stone's through away from the ski resorts (snow dependant!) I bought some ex rental skis at a fair price in the knowledge that the bindings weren't up to scratch, but the skis themselves are fine - (Atomic R 8 18's- not the most modern in the ski world but they'll work!). A quick trip to decathalon and I found some Salomon bindings in a sale C509's.

So question one, will Salomon bindings work with atomic skis?
and question two... what am I missing? I have the ski brakes, and the front and back bindings, but clearly I need some sort of base plate? Any ideas? thanks

plym, Get see a ski tech, you may need a JIG or hellicoils if the holes are too close. If you have a plate on them, it may need removing or Atomic only bindings maybe required.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

plym, if you are asking these questions you shouldn't really be doing what you are doing. Spend a few bucks and get them done by someone who knows what they are doing.

Also, what are your stats? The C509s are dangerously close to kids bindings....
